Actress Candice Bergen was born in Beverly, CA on the 9th of May 1946. Her father was ventriloquist Edgar Bergen. Though she is still best known for her role in Murphy Brown, which also starred Faith Ford, she has appeared in dozens of movies including Miss Congeniality with Sandra Bullock and Sweet Home Alabama starring Reese Witherspoon. She got her start in the 1947 movie Unusual Occupations. Candice Bergen first appeared on TV on Groucho Marx's You Bet Your Life at age 11.
